Campeche Playa Golf Marina & SPA Resort will begin the construction of the irrigation system of the first 9 holes of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in the next few days. The necessary materials are already within Campeche Playa grounds.
The function of the Irrigation System is to consolidate the growth of the grass and maintain it in the best conditions. For this it will only feed on rainwater and on water from a sewage treatment plant that has been created for this purpose. Water will be stored in sewers with the shape of lakes integrated in the landscape of the Golf Course.
In order to achieve this, we will proceed to the set-up of piping and special equipment for the system connection. Sprinklers, electrical and communication fittings. Automated controls will be installed to activate sprinklers at certain times of the day. Also a weather station for climate monitoring and a specialized computer and software will be installed to control the schedule and length of irrigation.
Once the irrigation system is installed, the ditches will be closed, the final shaping will be done, and the Top Soil will be placed. The Top Soil is a sand layer of about 25 to 30cm in which ultimately the grass seeds will be planted.
The completion date for the installation of the irrigation system for the first nine holes is expected to be April or May 2010.
